Pitt Business Project Management Academy
This professional academy gives students the opportunity to increase their project management knowledge and skills by specifically focusing on principles of being a Scrum Master and being a Product Owner. The program mimics a project management Scrum lifecycle of “sprints”. At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to take either the Professional Scrum Master I certification exam or the Product Owner certification exam contingent on what semester a student participates in the program.
Product Owner training occurs during the fall semester.
Scrum Master training occurs during the spring semester.
Workshop Topics
– Understanding and applying the agile methodology
– Methods and measurements
– Backlogs
– Team roles, such as Scrum Master and Product Owner
– Sprints
– Artifacts, etc.
Student Eligibility
All sophomores, juniors, and seniors of any major within Pitt Business are eligible.
Schedule
This program runs in both fall and spring semesters and is comprised of two six-hour sessions structured in a “bootcamp” format”.
