The Pitt Business Analytics Institute is designed to give students practice in analytical skill development. Analytical skills are essential for navigating complex and dynamic business landscapes, making data-driven decisions, and effectively solving problems.
What You Learn
The Pitt Business Analytics Institute consists of two different program parts.
Part 1 – Analytic Excel and Tableau Fundamentals Presented by LEAP (League of Emerging Analytics Professionals)

Students who complete four or more workshops will be eligible to participate in the Tableau portion of the Analytics Institute and can waive the assessment exam.
- These LEAP workshops run during fall and spring semesters.
Part 2 – Tableau
- In this part of the program, students will be provided with Tableau Desktop training and vouchers to take the Tableau Certification exam.
- This phase is taught by Nalyn Siripong, a data scientist with Pitt IT (Information Technology).
- Interested students must either complete Excel and Tableau Fundamentals and pass the assessment exam to be eligible to participate in Part 2 of the Analytics Institute.
- Part 2 runs during fall semesters.
