Student Success and Tutoring

At Pitt Business we care about the success of our students. If you’re having trouble in a class there are a few different ways to get help ranging from components of the class itself, to tutoring, to web-based resources.

If you find that you need additional support, please access any one of the below services.

Available Support

If the class you’re having trouble in has a recitation section, be sure to attend and ask questions. If an Arts & Sciences course has a recitation, attendance is generally mandatory. Recitations for many business courses, however, are considered help sessions, so you’re advised to attend when you need assistance. Despite this, all recitations are held on Friday, and many students who need help don’t seem to attend as they should. Therefore, if you’re having trouble in a business course with a recitation, please go to the recitation. Every instructor holds office hours, waiting in their office for at least a couple of hours per week, ready to answer questions and help students. Take advantage of this opportunity—get help from the person who will be testing you, and also get to know your instructor a bit.

Daytime individual tutoring appointments in Sennott Square are available and can be scheduled through Handshake. Group tutoring in Mervis Hall will take place in the evening.

This platform allows you to learn at your own pace and gives students a way to dive deeper into a subject. When a module is complete, students can access LinkedIn Certifications that can then be put onto their resumes and LinkedIn profile.
