General Management Major
As the new majors replace concentrations in the General Management major, that major will be gradually phased out. All students already enrolled in the General Management major will be able to complete it. No students will be able to enroll in the General Management major after Friday, August 23, 2013. If you have any questions about the phase-out of the General Management major, please contact your academic advisor.
The major in general management provides students with interests in more than one discipline the flexibility to concentrate their elective course work in two areas. Course work in the areas noted below may be used for the general management major. Courses with significant international content are offered in several areas. Students with international business interests should also consider a study abroad program or the Certificate Program in International Business.
To earn the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree, general management majors must earn a minimum of 120 credits. General management majors fulfill all arts and sciences foundation requirements as well as all BSBA core curriculum requirements. The core courses in the two areas of concentration must be completed with a C or better to take additional courses in those areas. A minimum of three courses each from two different concentration areas must be taken. A minimum of 18 credits beyond the core is required for the major. A cumulative GPA of 2.25 (C+) in each of the general management concentrations is required for graduation. A C- or better is required in each course applied toward the general management major. Although the courses to be offered will be affected by student demand, the following courses have been approved to date for each area.
Careful planning is required to complete the general management major. Not all courses are offered every term. Transfer students, and students intending to graduate in August or December, need to plan carefully to be sure they complete the required courses when offered. Visit course descriptions to see in which term courses are offered.

**Plans for internships must be approved by CBA Career Services before registration for the course is permitted. Effective for fall 2012 and after, internships for credit will be graded on a Satisfactory/No Credit (S/NC) basis only. This applies to all CBA students completing internships for credit.
In addition, CBA is phasing out the option of substituting an internship for a required elective course in CBA majors. Internship credit will no longer be applied to the minimum number of credits required for a major. Students who have already declared a major in general management as of August 27, 2012 may still substitute an approved internship for a major elective course. New students entering CBA and those who have not declared their CBA major by August 27, 2012 may take an internship for credit, but will do so in addition to completing the 18 upper-level credits required for the general management major.
